SOFT ROLL UP TONNEAU COVERS

Roll up tonneau covers, or soft tonneau covers, are usually the entry level (lowest...cheapest) priced truck bed covers.

These covers tend to be mostly for utility purpose and try to fulfill the idea of "out of sight...out of mind."

A soft (roll-up) tonneau cover typically sits on top of your truck bed and offers access to the bed by "rolling up" to the front of the bed, behind the cab. It is normally secured with a 'hook and loop' seam (similar to Velcro®) along the two sides and (sometimes) the rear. Some soft cover manufacturers use snaps along the seam to secure the cover when in use.

These covers offer you the ability to haul tall items in your truck easily.
Many of them also offer quite a bit of weather protection such as keeping the rain and the snow out of your truck bed.

Security:

There is very little security offered by having a soft tonneau cover. The hook and loop fasteners or snaps don't really lock or latch, so they can easily be opened by anyone...and that includes thieves.

Some covers latch at the rear, but none latch on the sides.

However, as described above, the idea of "out of sight...out of mind."

Profile:

These covers are usually quite low profile, so they don't sit that high on the bed.

Cost:

As described above, roll-up tonneau covers are usually priced quite low are the choice of people who are shopping for value in a tonneau cover for their truck bed.
